Cultural Empathy, Part 1

by Raul F. Gochez

Feels like big words...but they’re not.  I didn’t invent the concept, but I WILL own it, and you will thank me for it.

You guys don’t realize the importance of this statement.  You’re doing it wrong...stop the PC and identify it for what it is...

We come to the U.S.A....because of the U.S.A.

It’s undeniable that U.S.A.’s  Pop Culture it what got us hooked.   Not the “American Dream” not the B.S. that “I can’t make it in my country”, and certainly not for the tacos...(Yes, I said it!).

So, stop advertising in Spanish, like if I’m an idiot.  All you have to do, at best, translate the copy, with a very neutral Spanish,  and convince me.  It’s that simple.  Don’t try so hard.

oh...you don’t know how?  You don’t want to?

If it’s the first one,  follow my blog (and all of my platforms), and I’ll tell you how.

if the latter, then do what Victor Maitland told Axel Foley

The New Media Revolution

by Raul Gochez

Hi everyone!  I will attempt to share my thoughts on a weekly basis, with the hopes that organically,  I will bring the highly coveted traction, to my site; hence, my business, without, for now, the benefit of posing naked for you.

This week, my subject is podcasting.   This media is causing a great deal of attention, not only for the freedom one has to communicate, but for the hunger to, in a short spam of time, one gets to consume by way of intelligent and useful information to you.

I agree with Bob Lefsetz, when he says that most podcasts cover stories that appear nowhere else.

I invite you to explore this media, I typically listen in the car or before I go to bed.

My favorities are

"WTF With Marc Maron"  http://www.wtfpod.com

"Here's The Thing With Alec Baldwin": http://www.wnyc.org/shows/heresthething/

and

"Radiolab": http://www.radiolab.org

Enjoy!

The Culture of Giving

by Raul Gochez

I am taking this opportunity to write because I am feeling inspired today.  And when that breeze comes into my brain cells I want to take the opportunity to share it you.

Throughout my career, I have encountered many obstacles regarding the value (not the cost) of what we can do for our allies (some people called them customers, other clients).  And the common denominator is about what we deserve to be rewarded (some people call it paid).  And to put it simple, we simply love what we do, we enjoy it and we want to transfer that enjoyment to our allies.

And whilst, there are many other avenues for which we can rewarded that do not include money, and we constantly look for, this is a for-profit business and we simply have no alternative but to charge for our services.

Now, here's the tricky part.  How do we get paid, when we encounter a certain culture of reluctancy...well simple...WE GET REWARDED (paid) FOR WHAT WE KNOW, no for what we DO.

For us, is safe to say that we have achieved Malcolm Gladwell's Model, for which we invited you to explore, in this link   http://bit.ly/1NlwZpA. So, I believe that through trials and errors we can categorically write that we know what we are doing and that are only intention is to help you achieve your goals.

We wish you a great week!  Have fun
